Pressgang Mutiny are Toronto’s Shantymen, dedicated to travelling the globe to discover shanties, works songs and the people who sing them. Their music is deeply grounded in the shanty tradition and anchored on their signature four-part harmony. They also push the boundaries to explore the musical connections between shanties and other genres to showcase everything that shanties can be.

Recently at events like the Connecticut Sea Music Festival (USA), Portsmouth Maritime Folk Festival (USA), Cape Ann Schooner Celtic Sail, The National Celtic Festival (Australia), Paimpol – Festival du Chant de Marin (Brittany), Deunen & Deinen, Enkhuizen (The Netherlands), Portsoy Traditional Boat Festival and Oban International Shanty Festival as well as at Arnside Singing festival and Lancaster Music Festival. s.⚓️

The Sunderland Point Sea Shanty Crew are a raucous, rowdy bunch of singers from the little fishing village of Sunderland Point singing traditional and original shanties. Sunderland Point near Morecambe is a village that is cut off by the tide twice a day.⚓️

We are Morecambe based three friends who started singing together a couple of years ago. Bonnie, Jim and Stuart are all experienced singers who thought it would be fun to try some shanties as we all have some seafaring in our backgrounds.⚓️

12:00 The Pier Hotel.
Mike Taylor is well known locally for leading shanty sing around. You can come and listen, join in the chorus (they have to be simple for sailors) or you can sing your favourite sea shanty or sea song. It’s a brilliant way to start the festival. ⚓️
