We welcome both local and national acts whose performances relate to the old and new maritime traditions and environment.
We are looking for qualified people to offer family orientated activities during the day.
Volunteering is a great way to make a positive impact in our community. Whether it’s through donating your time or skills, every little bit helps.
Perhaps you can offer your venue as a performance space or provide hospitality for our acts….or provide both!
Morecambe Maritime Festival aims to be a Community Celebration so:
- If you are a local small or large business why not set up a Festival Vendor Stall and sell your produce.
- If you a local club or community organisation why not set up a Festival Community Stall
WOW! DID YOU HEAR ABOUT THIS!
Morecambe Maritime Festival is working to bring to you for the first time this year…
The Maritime 25: Rhythms & Roots Workshops
These Rhythms & Roots workshops aim to bring local communities together by celebrating Morecambe’s maritime heritage and environment through creative activities for the Maritime Festival.
Why Rhythms? When sailors worked on the tall ships, their work on hauling on ropes was co-ordinated using songs (called shanties) with a strong rhythm. We’ll be writing new shanties in the workshops.
Why Roots: we’ll be using creative art work and new writing to celebrate Morecambe’s maritime historical roots.
Can you help us by pledging your support to this exciting new venture in collaboration with local creative groups specialising in music, the spoken word, creative artwork and in the environment to produce workshops & activities for local residents of all ages For more information please scan the QR Code or use the button to go to the website.
