On Morecambe Promenade
Word Walk
Join us for our free “Word Walk” – A creative stroll along the seafront, with poet Anne Holloway – writing, doodling, chatting or just taking in the sights and sounds.

Fish and Ships Guided Walk
Join us on a special nautical guided walk taking in Morecambe’s rich maritime past – from it’s liner-styled Midland Hotel, the site of Morecambe’s long gone harbour and ship-breakers yard, a once thriving fishing industry and a revival of interest in the natural environment. We set sail on Saturday 15th August from the Morecambe Heritage Table in our iconic Winter Garden at 12:30pm. There is no ticket charge for this activity but we do ask for donations towards the cost of the festival.
Cordage Activity
Get creative with Morecambe Bay Partnership at this year’s Morecambe Maritime Festival! 🌊 Join us for free, family-friendly drop-in workshops in the run-up to the festival and on Saturday 15 August 2026.
Help create a collective artwork and have a go at making bracelets, fidget toys and bookmarks using plant material to create traditional cordage. No experience needed — just drop in and get involved!
Morecambe & Heysham Sea Cadets
Visit the stall for games, and activities. Learn knot tying with the cords from the Cordage activity next door.
Art Explora Mobile Museum
Exhibition tours on board the Mobile Museum: the exhibition includes historical, modern and contemporary artworks explores our complex relationship with the sea: industry, navigation, and personal experience. Creative workshops: delivered outside the Mobile Museum
Ode to Hope
Ode to Hope is a site-specific participatory artwork proposed for Morecambe Promenade during the Maritime Festival. The work consists of a 16-metre-long monochrome painting made up of 64 individual panels.

Clapping song for 0-5 years. Come on in and sit down with kids and have fun. 1:30pm -2:30pm

A display of maritime models of all sizes including radio controlled models.

RNLI Stall -water safety activity.- Come and see the inshore lifeboat.

RNLI Lifeboat day – celebrating the stations 60 years. Display of emergency support organisations.
